Tandoori Taj - Huizen

We visited this restaurant for the first time after being handed a menu flyer during Sinterklaas as we didn't hear of it before. The food was really good and served fresh and hot. The naan bread and Butter chicken was delicious. We ordered one 1 person menu to be surprised and then we added a starter and a main separately (the dishes we wanted to make sure to get) but we ended up getting the same dishes which wasn't a problem to us as it was tasty. The 1 person menu had different information on the flyer vs the information on the restaurant menu (e.g. in the flyer it says you can choose which dishes you want to have and it mentions 3 main courses while in the restaurant it mentions surprise and you get lentilcurry + one main dish which is vegetarian or non vegetarian).

During our visit it took more than 1hr to receive the starter and while we were eating the starter, the main course was served which was a bit strange, so we had it all at once. Ice cubes were also out, and the lentilcurry as well (we were served a different dish instead of the lentilcurry which we were ok with). The dessert was forgotten and we had to mention we didn't gwt it. We were told it was grand opening and more busy than expected. We could tell as we had to keep reminding of things but find it strange it was grand opening as we see reviews already from October and we visited on Nov 16.

It is a small and cozy place but unfortunately we couldn't really feel it. We were sitting near the entrance and it was a bigger group sitting next to us and children playing with balloons that flew to our table a couple of times. We had a baby with us in a stroller ourselves and I guess there was no other spacious seat available than the one at the entrance.

Overall we would recommend the place if they keep up with the quality of the food as it was very tasty but advice the restaurant to become a bit more organized and want to mention that the staff is very friendly!

We went for a small outing to Huizen. The food is one of the best in The Netherlands. The Indian cuisine is super good here. We ordered for family and kids. The ambience is super inside as well as the outside. After food, you can a have walk on the beachside. They are equally good with event catering. The staff has super hospitality, easy to talk and jolly, even for kids and older people. I recommend them 100%…………Enjoy worry free if you go there.

Amazing experience! We ordered for a group gathering, and everyone loved the food. The highlight for me was definitely the samosas - crispy, flavourful, and so authentically Indian, that I felt like I was back in my college canteen. It’s rare to find that taste in the Netherlands! Will definitely order again.

We have ordered a couple times here and tried different dishes and everything was delicious! Not one dish has disappointed so far, the portions are so big we usually also had leftovers for lunch the next day. The delivery is quick and friendly! I can’t recommend this place enough!

I have to say, I’ve never had such an authentic Indian taste in the Netherlands before! The flavors instantly reminded me of India. The Paneer Matar was rich and perfectly spiced, the grilled chicken was juicy with that classic tandoori flavor, and the tandoori naans were soft yet slightly crisp – just the way they should be.

On top of the delicious food, the staff were very welcoming and genuinely pleasing, which made the experience even better. If you’re in Huizen and craving real Indian food, this place is a must-visit!
