Tandoori Taj - Huizen

Great restaurant with authentic dishes and friendly staff! The owner recommended Chaat as a starter, and it was delicious. A must visit when you are in the area!

We went yesterday night for the first time. We loved it. Nicely decorated and good service.But the food was the top of the night. Chickpeas curry, butter chicken, and rice were my favourites. Looking forward to try more dishes. Highly recommended.

Had an amazing meal here. The food was fresh, full of flavor, and perfectly spiced you can really taste the care in every dish. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The owner even came by to chat with us, which was really nice and showed how much they care about their guests. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and fantastic food. I’ll definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place. 👌

We really enjoyed our visit and especially the curries which were full of flavour and excellent in quality and very generously portioned. The price quality ratio is excellent and you truly get great value for what you pay. It is refreshing to finally have a good traditional Indian restaurant in Huizen that clearly takes pride in its food.

The dishes tasted authentic and well prepared and made with care and the overall experience was very satisfying.

Another big plus is the owners. They are extremely friendly and welcoming and attentive which immediately makes you feel comfortable. It is clear that this is a family owned restaurant and that personal touch really shows in both the service and the atmosphere. You feel appreciated as a guest and not just another customer which adds a lot to the overall dining experience.

The only small downside for me was the vindaloo sauce. While the flavour itself was good the sauce contained quite coarse pieces of tomato and ginger which made it rather tomato heavy and not well blended or at least that was my impression. Next time I will definitely go for a madras and hope it will be more in line with what I am used to.

Overall this was a positive experience and a restaurant we will certainly return to more often.

We visited this restaurant for the first time after being handed a menu flyer during Sinterklaas as we didn't hear of it before. The food was really good and served fresh and hot. The naan bread and Butter chicken was delicious. We ordered one 1 person menu to be surprised and then we added a starter and a main separately (the dishes we wanted to make sure to get) but we ended up getting the same dishes which wasn't a problem to us as it was tasty. The 1 person menu had different information on the flyer vs the information on the restaurant menu (e.g. in the flyer it says you can choose which dishes you want to have and it mentions 3 main courses while in the restaurant it mentions surprise and you get lentilcurry + one main dish which is vegetarian or non vegetarian).

During our visit it took more than 1hr to receive the starter and while we were eating the starter, the main course was served which was a bit strange, so we had it all at once. Ice cubes were also out, and the lentilcurry as well (we were served a different dish instead of the lentilcurry which we were ok with). The dessert was forgotten and we had to mention we didn't gwt it. We were told it was grand opening and more busy than expected. We could tell as we had to keep reminding of things but find it strange it was grand opening as we see reviews already from October and we visited on Nov 16.

It is a small and cozy place but unfortunately we couldn't really feel it. We were sitting near the entrance and it was a bigger group sitting next to us and children playing with balloons that flew to our table a couple of times. We had a baby with us in a stroller ourselves and I guess there was no other spacious seat available than the one at the entrance.

Overall we would recommend the place if they keep up with the quality of the food as it was very tasty but advice the restaurant to become a bit more organized and want to mention that the staff is very friendly!
